Karla Apéstegui Founder & Architect
Roots & Experience
Karla designs with both precision and tenderness. Educated at the Universidad del Diseño in Costa Rica and with further studies in Spain, she brings more than twenty years of experience bridging large-scale projects with a deeply human perspective. She began her career independently, and in 2006 joined Zürcher Arquitectos, where she led high-profile hospitality and residential projects, from Papagayo resorts to Marina Pez Vela, refining her mastery in complex project management and hotel design.
ENNTRE & Vision
Later, Karla pursued her own entrepreneurial path as creative consultant and design director, guiding private and corporate projects with clarity and rigor. In 2020, she founded ENNTRE as a collaborative, human-centered studio. In 2025, she met Jessica, and together they relaunched ENNTRE, expanding its vision into a shared practice led by two women, two architects, and one commitment: to design as a living relationship.

For Karla, architecture begins not on paper, but in the way mornings unfold, how light rests on a table, and the rhythms of family life. Her signature is executive clarity and technical mastery, balancing vision with execution so beauty never loses its strength along the way.
Life Beyond Architecture
Beyond her profession, Karla is a mother, runner, and passionate cook, finding the same joy in preparing meals that bring people together as in designing spaces that invite belonging. Rooted in a family of strong women, supported by her Argentine partner and their shared spiritual community, she embodies resilience, empathy, and purpose.

Roots & Global Experience
Jessica designs as both an architect and a storyteller, weaving beauty from intention. With over eighteen years leading projects across Latin America and the U.S., she blends the vision of a global leader with the intimacy of a designer who listens deeply.
Educated in Costa Rica and with a Master’s in Sustainable Environmental Design from UPC Barcelona, she spent nearly two decades at Gensler, one of the world’s most influential firms. Rising to Principal and Managing Director, she led multidisciplinary teams across workplace, retail, hospitality, and industrial design, always with a regenerative lens that turned ordinary places into extraordinary experiences.
Leadership & Impact
At Gensler, Jessica not only shaped large-scale projects but also the culture of design itself. She revitalized stranded assets, reimagined existing spaces, and ensured sustainability was at the heart of every transformation. She also led the firm’s global Diversity & Inclusion strategy, proving that design can be both innovative and profoundly human..
ENNTRE & Vision
In 2025, after meeting Karla, Jessica joined forces with her to relaunch ENNTRE with a renewed vision: a boutique studio rooted in human relationships, regenerative thinking, and collaborative design. Together, they guide projects ranging from private villas in Costa Rica to large-scale masterplans, always with the conviction that beauty is not just an outcome, but a shared journey.
Life Beyond Architecture
Jessica believes architecture is less about objects and more about energy: the pause before someone speaks, the rhythm of footsteps through a room, the balance that allows life to flow. She is a mother of two, an eager tennis learner, and a passionate traveler drawn to landscapes where culture, nature, and design meet. She finds joy in books, ceramics, and cooking, where creativity becomes ritual and play. As President of Fundación CRUSA, she helps shape strategies for sustainability, entrepreneurship, and social impact. At ENNTRE, she is both compass and catalyst: visionary, collaborative, and deeply human.
